Call to Order
and Welcome:
(Meeting called to order at
9:25am)

Potter, Pat Kirsch, Sara Mays.
SPT welcomed Jessica Potter Senior student of Glendale High School.
Review
of February Minutes: Approved by Ella Crawford

Treasure
Report: SPT received
Grant monies of $500.00 from Eagles Club in Falls Creek.
Ending Total $997.76
Dennis seconded, Nancy approved.
WALK
Committee Report:
*Pat Kirsch brought about idea of Falls Creek for Walk and this will be
looked into if initial Walk location of DuBois is not approved. –Dennis mentioned council more than likely
would not approve (Falls Creek) due to police, roadblocks, lack of sidewalks
and prior authorization from PennDot due to local highway.
*Ella brought forth idea of DuBois walkway. –Dennis mentions councils receptive to idea
and would need prior authorization from Chief Mike Delulu.
*Dennis also mentioned acquiring a certificate of liability and has
spoken with insurance agent George Heigle in regards to obtaining one. SPT is looking into DRMC loaning out
certificate for Walk event. Mary is
checking into DCORT regarding loan of certificate.
*Jessica Potter shared ideas about her non-profit Walk (To Write Love on
Her Arms; Walk for HOPE) and gave better ideas for pledge forms.
*Mary brought up idea of starting our SPT webpage to get the word out
more.
*Kris is checking into Moose club for additional Grants/Funding.
Old Business
Kathy Renne was
bumped from Vice-Chair to Chair.
Nancy nominated
self to be new Vice-Chair.
Shannon Quick
gave verbal notice, stepping down from Chair position. Board accepted resignation; Shannon will
remain on the Board of Directors.
SPT approved
New Business
Dennis was nominated as Chair for Walk and
Ella nominated as Co-Chair.
Dennis along
with SPT discussed bringing in guest speaker Sergeant Lacograe into a local school to discuss D&A,
Cyber-bulling, Sexting, etc.
Subcommittees
were started.
Nancy motioned
to secure DuBois Park for Walk location, Ella seconded motion, All approved.
Announcements:
No Suicide
Prevention Conference this year.
Clearfield
Hospital Health Expo. Tuesday, May 11th. Free tables for vendors must register by
April 1st. Set up May 10th.
Laurel Brooke
Landing WRC (Women’s Relief Core) April 27th from 9-2. Marketing contact Dawn Wies for information
call Laurel Brooke 849-3615 and they will get you in contact with Dawn.
Jefferson County
Geriatric Interest Network will meet the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00
am at the Punxsutawney Hospital.
Community Education Night…Coping with
Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

include: Strategic Planning for Suicide Prevention, Applied Suicide
Intervention Skills Training, QPR T4T Gatekeeper Trainer Certification. See Attached
Anti-Stigma workshop is May
19 from 6:00-8:00 PM at The Cove in DuBois.
