These definitions give a general description of the service, non-traditional services are individualized to the
specific consumer’s needs through the service plan and the referral &
authorization process.
Family Based Mental Health
Family-Based Mental Health
Services (FBMH) are comprehensive coordinated services designed to assist families in
caring for their children or adolescents with emotional disturbances at home.
The service offers mental health treatment, casework services, and family
support. Services are available 24 hours
a day, seven days a week, for up to 32 weeks, or longer if medically necessary.
